Project Description:
Re-planting of the Hillsborough Road-James Street rain garden.
Project Background:
In 2012, the Town of Carrboro in partnership with NC State University installed a rain garden at the intersection of Hillsborough Rd and James Street.
Stormwater staff and a volunteer from the neighboring Barred Owl Creek Neighborhood, Barbara Stenross, planted about 80 plugs and tubelings of native plants to refresh the rain garden. Over winter these plants will establish their root system and flush out in the spring with any surviving original plant material.
Public Works and Stormwater staff maintain this rain garden so if you have any concerns or questions please contact staff at 919-913-2999 or by email at stormwater@townofcarrboro.org.
